I've been looking into getting gifts online for Christmas because I've heard there is a lot of places you can get a big discount rather than go to the store and pay full price. Most of you guys know your way around the internet better than I do and was wondering if you guys knew of any places that have good prices for christmas gifts.

I heard amazon.com mentioned by a lot by people, and I checked it out and found some pc games I was looking into (COD 2 / Battle Filed 2 / Age of Empires 3) for 10 or more dollars less with NO shipping or handling. It seems too good to be true...what's the catch?!

The catch is getting you used to buying from them automatically. Did you ever notice how newegg is the defacto gamer and techi website.

We think newegg and amazon.com first then look elsewhere if we don't like the price. If the price is satisfactory, we will not look elsewhere.

newegg's customer service and prices are top notch. Can't say I've bought anything from amazon but I know people that do all the time.

I personally dont like amazon anymore.

Their service is satisfactory, but pray to god you dont have a problem.

Cause once you do, welcome to the world of stress.

Its starts by having to scour the internet looking for a contact number, because they dont list it on their website.

Then it'll take about 2 hrs to reach an actual person. which speaks broken english, so you have to take another hr explaining your problem. then she will have to "research that and get back to you"

and it just goes on :-(


But yes newegg is extremely good for most things. Course i still find that DVD's are cheaper to buy in store than online.
