Hi all, I've been lurking for a while and finally, I decided to join in. I read Animal's post about the "life of a noob" and I just had to join up so I could reply....that's some funny **** man. Liek, I can so identify wit tose stories.

Liek Animal, I too, dream of being an uber-gamer. I can remember being a new noob, having played a few months in single player mode, I reckoned I was ready to explore a bit. So I clicked this thingy I saw, think it said "multiplayer". Up popped some incomprehensible list. I soon discovered by clicking on one of the list items I was transported magically to a whole new world of quake. Peeps had colorful names, wow, how they do that? Since I was seasoned by making it thru all levels in "i can win" mode, I was amazed to see many blue players had what appeared to be the quad, I mean they were all glowing blue and **** just liek I'd seen bots with the quad in SP mode. Then I realized they weren't movin. Weird. I knew the game said somethin bout freeze. Ok, I get it. I'll just blast away with the rocket at my bluemates and thaw them right? Cuz I saw that happen, didn't I? I mean somedude named police was standing next to his aglow blue teammate, guanting him furiously and that wasn't workin, so I figured he was noob too, and rockets were comin' from everywhere, seemed to be hitting the frozen dude and poof, frozen dude disappeared. I'm no Einstein, but seems logical to me a hot rocket up the stiff's keister ought to be enuf to thaw em, right? Weird thing is, frozen dude thawed and now that police dude is frozen in his place, now I know he noob 4sure. Well, this is a ghey game, I'm not thawing someone only to be frozen myself for doing it. So that's how I learned to avoid thawing froze-up teammates on my first day in a freeze mod game.

i still love it how random people are always doing the gauntlet assault on frozen bodies while holding down the gesture button... honestly ppl if u have time to do that then the teams are PROBABLY uneven

The thing that really cracked me up in Quake was when people would gesture while trying to rail me. Honestly, what do they think they're gonna do? Throw off my aim by waving their arms frantically while letting out a war cry?

Works on some people, I remember xavier used to give people fits by taunting all the time. Funny stuff!

I wonder if you can bind 2 things to one key (left mouse fires & taunts at the same time)? I hardly if ever use taunt, but that would be funny to try out.

I think trouble post a script for that in h8you.org (long time ago), can anyone that knows that bind post it in? it would be nice to try it out

yeah sev i heard of ppl actually in the IU mod binding Fire and jump to the same key which made an excellent combo for railjumping variations...

or something like that
