Anybody that played Doom 3 has a pretty good idea where they stand with Quake 4. Are you planning on buying a new video card, or building a new box to enjoy Quake 4 at its fullest?
I think I'm going to be doing some upgrading...just not yet because I know I can handle Quake 4 with what I have now. I want to see how well it plays first. Then I'll wait a few months and see what's on the market...but first I need to do some reading so I can catch up with the rest of you on this computer stuff.
I have to build a new box. My current computer should run q4 but I start to get the jitters if I go for more than 6 months without builiding a new PC or upgrading one.
I have Erasumus around to score snazzy new video cards and mouse stuff for me.
Us Californians have fry's to take our money for computer stuff. The rest of the world has to shop at new egg.
I have one computer that has full bars on all q4 tests. One mid line on the tests and one that may make minimum for the tests. I only have one copy of q4 though.
I invested about 3G 3 years ago + $700 1.5 year ago for x800 Pro. I think I'm gona keep it for at least 2 more years and than build a new box. Which is going to be connected by HDMI to 60" plasma and play all my video/audio too. Game/Media PC
