Hey everyone !! Long time no frag.....I had some $$$ issues the past month and i had my cable shut off ! Its back on now and i see a lot has changed...

The problem im having now is with Punkbuster....Back in the day, i played Battlefield Vietnam ( since the 1st day it came out ) and everything was fine with BFV and PunkBuster...That is until the second patch realease for the BFV game and PB...Now when i connect to any Quake 3 server with PB enabled im getting the same problem....MY GAME AND COMPUTER IMMEDIATELY LOCK UP....i wrote down the last operation PB made the last time i joined a Q3 1.32 PB enabled server....Im hoping one of u is a PB pro and can make some sence of this..this is on the screen (top left) in the Punkbuster blue green color

Right after these lines appear..whatever sound the game is making at the time begins to repeat...and i am unable to make anything work on the computer except the reset button....Any ideas???? I was such a BFV enthusiast back then i spent many hours trying different things like pb_system 1 and pb_sleep 500....even got evenbalance support to email me back and forth numerous times....they were very interested as to why it was happening (at first) BUT one day, they just didnt respond anymore....i see that it might be a sound card issue from the evenbalance website....i have a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live Value listed in my device mgr.....im using a Geforce 4 MX4000 128mb video card...gateway p3 700 or 900 mhz (dont feel like rebooting to look) lol....but like i said...this goes way back to when BFV was FIRST RELEASED, well after the second patch for it anywayz....now this shyt is following me into a new addiction of mine Q3 !! ! i even went out and bought the game yesterday to get a valid cd key...20$ at Best Buy...im in Sarasota FL its not $10 here...nothing is $10 here...........

Im doubting that any of you guys can help, but ill take any suggestions! I know the most obvious one though...GET A NEW COMPUTER....when i have $$$ i will... !!

PS ... If anyone knows how to get me an updated driver for this sound card id love to know how to do it....Creative SB Live! Value in the Properties tab of this device DRIVER...i see that its File Version is 4.11.01.0711 SOooo thats my life....take care guys...maybe someone has a clue...cause i sure dont..peaceeeeeeeeee outtttttttttttttttttttttttt

I would try grabbing pbsetup from the link below and update punkbuster manually. It will update it and fix any file issues. If you have a new key (and you haven't reinstalled quake 3), make sure you delete the q3key file from the baseq3 folder, as well as all other mod folders, then enter your key again when prompted.

Thanks for the info but ive been there and done that....I think i just need a new computer....when this issue first started back with the BFV, there were a few of us who couldnt get ANYTHING to fix this problem...im assuming those guys got a new computer in the meantime......for me, im stuck playin non-pb server here in 1.32...its ok, but its not as fun as this mod this server ! go back to 1.30 or at least turn off PunkBuster on your server 1 day a week so i can get on and play ! lol is that asking too much ?? BUmP for more help with PB issue.... OTHER than that , i gotta get a new computer! cyall
