i've been enjoying my quake 3 arena i have completed the game so i went looking for additional maps. found the mega map pack, put the pk3 files in the baseq3 folder but every time i started the game it would only see the maps that came with the game so i installed the point release 132 why dunno ?
now the game will not play it starts to load then i get quake 3 console window appear the message is large this is just the end of it----------------------

did you change res size of the game?? if you made it too big you're sh1t outta luck and you'll have to do a fresh install
