Haven't been on much lately due to being totally addicted to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion..........but I'm back again now

I was hoping things would pick up on the Q4 scene once the first proper Point Release came out, but alas, it seems as quiet as ever. There are still more people playing Q3A. Maybe it's because the system requirements are pretty high? Maybe it's lack of mods? Maybe it will take time for people to migrate over from Q3A (if they ever do...)? Or is just that the Quake style of MP isn't popular anymore and people want their realistic war games like BF and CS?

There just seems to have been a general mood of apathy since Q4 first came out. It's frustrating

Let me tell ya what im thinking Cur! They are scared! Its no fun when you come over to q4 and get pwned! Im mean why leave q3 when you can play it blind folded and go from good/great to nOOb?!

Since they yanked 1.1 and are now holding off releasing again until 1.2 it's a mess. Even though 1.1 did solve many issues, I find the fact that they decided not to implement vertex lighting disappointing.

There are obviously FPS issues with the game as the renderer for Quakewars has been rewritten to fix it, but I doubt we'll ever see that upgrade for Q4. I'm sure that id is looking to QW to be their next big MP game, like you mentioned the war games are the thing now.

i dunno y i dont play it really, i played it for maybe a week or 2 when it first came out, mostly doin ctf, but there was never ne one to play with really, ive been wanting to find something to fill the time when no ones around for q3, so let me know when u guys are around, and ill hopefully start showin up

Oh yeah, I forgot they pulled the patch....because of a possible problem with one monitor

Oh well, just got to give it more time I guess. I'd be happy with just a small dedicated following like Q3A enjoys now.

yo they pulled the patch??? yo.. i got 1.1.. so can i still play servers everyone else is or what or do i need to step back down a patch like on q3?? and i like q4 woot.. but i've been playin alot of CS lately and i usually get some mad lag on q4.. that's the only thing holdin me back

I dunno ive been playing it for prolly 2 years b4 I started quake and now it seens really slow for me

CS is real slow but I still like the tactical approach you have to have with it.. and ur aim must be leet.. I still prefer fast shooters like q4 and ut2k4 over them but if you really wanna play slow mp.. Halo.. god, I never realized how slow that game was.. it's mad slow for MP so i don't really play it anymore.. and pyro I play CS Source in whatever servers I feel like, I don't have 1.6 installed on my comp but it's in my account.. so if you got Source lemme know and if you got 1.6 I'll install that and see how it goes from there..
