let me explain my position on the lightning gun.

alot of yall know i dont like it. the reason is that in my opinion, if you have true_lightning turned on..then it is a cheat. i think true_lightning was meant as a development tool. and somehow(either purposely or not) left into q3.

no other gun's firing can be modified. now you can change the rail color and trail time. and change the projectile-trail on the rockets, but not the way they fire. cant make them faster, fly straighter, reload faster, or anything else.

but you can with the lightning gun. by changin the truelighting variable, you alter the way it fires. the lightning gun is a powerful weapon. it is a first strike weapon. and is nasty. those of you who play in .32 or alot of 3wave or other ctf know that alot of the best players use lg at close to med range. and is almost impossible to deal with.

the weapon is supposed to curve. that was thier intention. they know its powerful. and the curvin makes it a little fairer.

to me the skill is adjusting your aim to the enemy's speed and heading. anticipation. that is fun to me. not just shooting straight at them and holding down the button. noobish. i have been playin this game for quite some time. and im not the only one who thinks this. i might be the only one here who does. but alot of the dudes who were badass in the day and showed me "the way", thought so as well.

ill stop *****ing about it. but know if you are a good player, i like playing against you. i take an ass whipping alot. and like it and learn from it. i like to fight. but i dont dig the lg. if some of the better players use it constantly , il just sepc until they leave and play after.


and as for using it with unlagged or ufreeze's hitscan...lol..thats just silly. (and for those of you who care, thats where se7en and i's problems started)

I advise you dont go to ra3 servers lol they have the lg handy but you can counter attack with some good dodging and good railz.

1.30 was the first point release to include that variable, as the release notes state: cg_trueLightning 0.5 (enables the new lightning gun effect). New effects were also made for the rocket, rail, and plasma in that release and remain unchanged through the final 1.32 release.

cg_oldRocket 0
cg_oldRail 0
cg_oldPlasma 0

You can dislike available variables, but expecting other players to not use them because you don't like them is unreasonable.

what about taking out the bfg b/c you dont like it? i must need to be a server admin to be resonable.

o. and the "how about now" was for deputy. i changed the 3rd grade to 8th grade. :-)

no intrusion. as these are discussions. and that is the only way to communcate. somtimes i take your comments towards me a slghts. and i apologize for that.

and there is a difference in "efffects" and actual firing changes. lighting and sound effects is kinda what i meant. not mode of operation.

I know several other people who use lg way more than I ever have. You claim to be friends with CB when he makes a living off that weapon. Go figure.
