My girl is getting a new laptop for her birthday.. she's wonderin which she should go for.. an Apple or a Dell.. from what I've heard Dell's seem to die down and customer service isn't that great.. Let me know what you guys know or think.. thanks a bunch!

I'd say dell lattitude x1 ( or whatever it's called). The smaller - the better. But again, it really depends on the usage and personality. I'd go for Fujitsy Lifebook that can fold into tablet PC and has touchscreen.

Dell laptops are much more reliable than most Apple notebooks. Apple is apparently having all sorts of problems with the new Apple MacBook. Besides the fact that you'll be able to pick up a decent Dell laptop for well under $1k.

Customer support between the two companies seems to be equally lousy. You're going to be stuck on hold, have unanswered e-mails, and generally just want to slam your head against the wall.

Considering its a female - she would just want it to work and have no trouble so I would go with apple.

ive always pondered gettin a laptop, but i always end up goin with a desktop cause im more gaming oriented and dont really care for how games go on laptops.

personally id go for whichever gets u more diskspace and ram for cheaper, cause if i had a desktop, itd be mostly for music probably
