Gaming accessories
With the recent technology boom in the computer world, I have been at a loss on how to spend my money. Last year I upgraded to a 64 bit cpu with an X1350 video card with 512 Meg of on board ram. I then added a 20 inch wide dell monitor, that is totally awesome, to the mix. The computer worked great for Quake 4 and FEAR but is now running SUSE Linux as the main operating system because MS Windows has not caught up wit 64 bit single core yet. Now we have dual core.
I spent all of that money for shiny new computer stuff and kept the same old accessories. My glass IceMat gaming pad is still going strong. My Logitech MX-518, that I thought was a great gaming mouse, has wigged out and replaced by a Razer Copperhead. My Saitek gaming keyboard is still nice and smooth but there should be something better on the market.
There is no way I am parting with my glass IceMat until Cosmo breaks it. My MX 518 was nice. I wonder if they came out with a new model or improved software to make it easier to configure all of those buttons?
It looks like the key board manufacturers have been doing some nice work lately but I am a bit on the fence between the ideazon
http://www.ideazon.com/us/ and the logitech
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...ONTENTID=10717. The Ideazon has great looking features while the logitech has a nice heads up display.
I don't know what I am going to get but I will only waste money on the shiny peripherals until the software industry catches up to 64 bit dual core. Then, I will probably buy myself a 128 bit quad core with a terabyte of ram.
