Does this sound like a good gaming system ?

I plan on getting the video card from here Newegg.com - BFG Tech BFGE88512GTSE GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

So far have 600 saved up so the cost of the barebones kit is $822.73 and the cost of the Video card is $329.99

Cheapest alienware I seen was $1600 or so, the site I did the customize on is Portatech.com and it has all the options you need and has options for video card but it has the 640mb 8800GTS so I want the 512mb version because I read it is faster and is over 100 dollars cheaper for such a small decrease of memory.

Buck, On portatech for a full system with graphic card and all is like 1000-1400 but that is minus the cost of a monitor, Later I plan on getting a flat panel monitor probably from newegg or ebay.
